A laid-back ride starting at Linton Falls near Grassington and climbing off-road towards Hetton/Winterburn.

None too challenging, but superb views, big skies and diverse riding, finishing with a long fast descent back to your start point.

Linton Falls (Limestone Falls - River Wharfe) is a great bbq spot if you fancy a bit of post ride outdoor cooking.

Start point
Grassington - Car Park close to Linton Falls - B6265 Lauradale Lane

The Route

Follow the road towards Linton. (B6265 Lauradale Lane). Pass through and out of village, (passing the Fountain Inn on your left)
Take the obvious track right where the road bears left. This has a good limestone base and climbs to a gate, then goes on as a grassy surface and descends, steadily at first then quite steeply, to a main road.

Cross the road to Moor Lane, a loose limestone climb. Following the next gate the route covers moorland on a well surfaced track to a fjord crossing. Carry straight on over the moorland following the gates through bottom left of the field.

A tricky but rideable mud and grassy track section follows that descends between walls to a gate towards Cracoe. Hit road past the houses and go right on tarmac (. B6265) towards Hetton

Turn right in the village of Hetton onto Bridleway climbing towards Winterburn Reservoir. Turn right after gate where track forks.  Continue climbing until you hit a gate that joins Boss Moor Lane (tarmac) turn left then right after 150 yards onto moorland track.

Turn right at Gated signpost towards Threshfield descending. Definitely one of the best sections of this ride. A long and winding downhill. The track eventually hits tarmac (Moor Lane) follow this to Threshfield village, return to start point at Grassington via a short section of tarmac (B6265)

Food

We tried Goa Spice (Cavendish St Skipton) for a pretty good curry
