The Great Northern Railway Trail
The former railway land which remains undeveloped is safeguarded by Bradford Council as land of local importance for nature conservation and the provision of walking, cycling and horseriding routes. Policy statements accompanying the Unitary Development Plan (Replacement Plan June 2001) have strengthened the protection of disused railways in Bradford District for sustainable transport purposes

Dalby Forest - Black Cycle Route - Forestry Commission
A short but challenging route, on variable terrain of mainly single track trails and some forest roads. Some very steep climbs and purpose built descents, needing a high level of technical ability. Experienced, excellent bike handling skills and a high level of fitness required.

Calder Valley Cycleway
Aimed at linking cycle routes in West Yorkshire to Manchester, the West Yorkshire section of the Calder Valley Cycleway runs from Sowerby Bridge to Warland, on the border with Lancashire. Moor to Sea Cycle Route
Crossing the stunning moorlands of North Yorkshire and through beautiful forests to the dramatic heritage coastline, the Moor to Sea cycle route links the towns of Scarborough, Pickering and Whitby in a long distance cycle route. Featuring over 80 miles of forest tracks, lanes, and the former coastal railway, the route can be ridden in stages ranging from easy to more challenging and offers cycle hire on route.

The Pennine Cycleway Guide
From Clapham the route follows minor roads on a fairly level(ish) gradient and all the while you have the bulk of Ingleborough on your right hand side. After Ingleton it is a reasonable climb up though Kingsdale ending with a big climb to Black Gill Head and then you are rewarded with a glorious descent to Dent.
